Monster Blast - Initial Impressions

This may come as a bit of a shock to some of you but I have a confession to make: I love video games.

I'll give you a moment to regain your composure after having dropped that bomb on you. You good? Okay, let's continue.

As I was saying - I love games. So when Marcus Hadlock offered to comp me a copy of the new PopLobby game, Monster Blast, I jumped at the chance.

So what do I think of Monster Blast?

The Game Creators launch App Game Kit

They say that everything old is new again and for me nothing embodies that statement as much as the App Game Kit(AGK) by the Game Creators (TGC). You see my first experience with building 3D games was with their game dev kit, Dark Basic. Back in 2002 Dark Basic was a revelation. Their documentation was good, the language was simple and powerful, and it was possible to make cool games in a relatively short time.

In very little time I was having fun creating some of my earliest games. Beer Run, Perimeter Breach, and a couple other games you have probably never heard of were born.

Fast forward 10 years and suddenly I am excited about another product release from TGC, the App Game Kit.

Oh the Horror: Managing Google+ Streams

OMGWTFBBQ!!!! My mind recoiled in horror. I opened Google+ and there were naked breasts on my screen. From the door to our office you can see my back and my monitor. Behind me I heard someone say, "Oh. Um, what's that?" I turned around and my manager was standing right there.

Time to start explaining.

Tragedy Strikes Two Versions of Internet Explorer

A bus on fire Tragedy struck this morning when two versions of Microsoft's popular web browser, Internet Explorer, were killed in a bus fire. The browsers, IE6 and IE7, were on a business trip in Minnesota when the bus they were riding spontaneously burst into flames. Onlookers were horrified to hear their screams as the two versions were reduced to ash over a period of 25 minutes.
